Vibrant Accountancy owner Bev Wakefield shortlisted for two awards

05/03/2024

THE owner of one of the fastest growing small businesses in Derby has been shortlisted for two leadership awards.

Bev Wakefield set up Vibrant Accountancy, in Lodge Lane, in 2019 and the company now employs 10 people – it is set to appoint its latest team member this month.

Vibrant has a growing client base across the Midlands, serving more than 250 businesses and business-owners across the region and, next month, Bev will find out if she has been successful in her bid to become Finance Leader and Emerging Entrepreneur Leader at the Business Desk Leadership Awards.

The event, which takes place at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham, also sees places on the shortlist for Bloc Digital’s Mo Suleman, Matthew Bonser – of South Normanton-based Purpose Media – and Precept’s Emma Tice.

The awards aim to spotlight business leaders across the East Midlands who deliver exceptional client service, offer an innovative approach and show qualities of extraordinary leadership with a positive impact on the region.

Bev said: “I am delighted to have been shortlisted for these awards. Every category is strong and it demonstrates the wealth of leaders we have right here in the East Midlands.”

Judges include Marketing Derby Press and PR Executive Robin Johnson and Tracy Harrison; founder of charity Safe & Sound.

Vibrant Accountancy prides itself on offering a ‘big firm experience’ with a ‘small firm touch’.

Champions of fellow SMEs, Vibrant launched a community growth programme last month with one organisation – either a business, charity or not-for-profit – set to receive expert advice and support from Bev.

The winner – who will benefit from strategic planning sessions, cash flow forecasting, mentoring and regular profit and cash flow improvement meetings – will be announced later this month.

It comes after a successful pilot scheme with Bridge the Gap, an organisation that supports children’s mental health.

Bev said: “I am very excited about the Community Growth programme and have been impressed with the applications we have received.

“This is our way of giving back; by helping others to achieve their goals and make a difference to our city.”
