Castle Blinds marks new chapter with expansion, showroom launch and continued commitment to craftsmanship

A Derby interiors business is creating a new manufacturing facility and expanding into interior design after three years of rapid growth under new ownership.

Castle Blinds, which has been part of the city for more than 30 years, has gone from strength to strength since Myles Hayhurst took over the business in 2023.

The company is now investing in a new manufacturing unit at Masons Place on Nottingham Road while transforming its existing premises into a dedicated interiors showroom.

The expansion will allow Castle Blinds to offer a complete interior design service, alongside an extended range of blinds, curtains, soft furnishings and wallpaper.

Myles said: “Castle Blinds has always been built on quality and craftsmanship, and that won’t change. Even as we grow, we remain committed to making our blinds and curtains using traditional methods because what sets us apart is our quality.”

The new showroom will feature a range of premium fabric houses, including Clarke & Clarke, William Morris and the Sanderson Group, giving customers access to some of the most respected names in interior design.

Supporting this offer is an in-house interior designer with more than 25 years’ experience, providing expert guidance to customers looking to transform their homes or commercial spaces.

The business has also seen significant growth across the Midlands, particularly in Nottingham and the West Midlands, with shutters emerging as one of the most in-demand products.

Castle Blinds’ reputation for quality has led to a number of high-profile projects. Most recently, the team completed work on the transformation of a former fire station in Birmingham into student accommodation, alongside projects at Swarkestone Nursery and

With continued investment, an expanding team and a broader interiors offering, Castle Blinds is well positioned to build on its legacy while embracing new opportunities.

Myles added: “This is an exciting time for us. We’re proud of our history, but we’re equally focused on the future – growing the business, reaching new customers, and continuing to deliver the high standards we’re known for.”
