A DERBY restaurant known for serving dishes from every corner of the globe has received an award recognising it as the best buffet restaurant.
COSMO Derby, an all-you-can-eat world banqueting restaurant located on London Road, has been named ‘Best Buffet Restaurant of the Year’ at the prestigious English Food Awards. The awards celebrate excellence in UK dining, recognising restaurants that deliver outstanding food, service and memorable experiences.

Most recently, the serving Mayor of Derby, Councillor Ajit Atwal, hosted his annual charity gala at the venue in support of his chosen charity, Derby Toc H Children’s Camp – a volunteer-led organisation that provides free, 10-day residential breaks in the Derbyshire countryside for disadvantaged children aged 9 to 14.
The event raised £1,033, boosted by donations from COSMO including four Christmas hampers, two meal vouchers and two 50%-off vouchers.

“Their support means a great deal — not just to me, but to the children who benefit from this wonderful charity.

COSMO has earned multiple national accolades over the years. They picked up two honours at the Golden Chopstick Awards in 2019 — Best Restaurant Chain and the Founders’ Business Achievement award — and following a break in 2020 due to COVID, went on to celebrate a consecutive Best Restaurant Chain win in 2021. More recently, COSMO received a DEIB Award in 2024, recognising their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging — further cementing their reputation as a well-established favourite among UK diners.
COSMO Derby seats 330 diners and can serve as many as 1,000 people on a busy Saturday with dishes from 10 different countries including China, Japan, India and Brazil, as well as a full British carvery.
