A Wolverhampton restaurant known for serving dishes from every corner of the globe has received an award recognising it as the best buffet restaurant.

COSMO Wolverhampton, based on Bentley Bridge Way, has been named ‘Best Buffet Restaurant of the Year’ at the prestigious English Food Awards. The awards celebrate excellence in UK dining, recognising restaurants that deliver outstanding food, service and memorable experiences.

COSMO has earned multiple national accolades over the years. They picked up two honours at the Golden Chopstick Awards in 2019 — Best Restaurant Chain and the Founders’ Business Achievement award — and following a break in 2020 due to COVID, went on to celebrate a consecutive Best Restaurant Chain win in 2021. More recently, COSMO received a DEIB Award in 2024, recognising their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging — further cementing their reputation as a well-established favourite among UK diners.

Mr Kan Koo, Director of COSMO Group, said: “We are incredibly honoured to receive this award. Our success reflects not only the dedication and passion of our amazing team but also the quality of the food we serve.”

“We’re hugely grateful to our loyal customers for their continued support. As a thank you, we’ll be offering special discounts throughout the year — all available on our website — and our chefs will continue creating fresh, high-quality dishes that keep people coming back.”

Kan believes the strength of the team is a key factor in creating the positive energy customers feel from the moment they walk through the door. Regular team-building activities and bonding events help staff deliver the excellent service COSMO is known for.

The restaurant also continues to play an active role in the community. It recently supported a charity event at the Mayor’s Parlour, hosted by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, who remains a close friend of the business and even attended a special Halloween-themed evening at COSMO.

Councillor Collingswood said: “We are incredibly grateful to Kan and the team at COSMO for their generous sponsorship and support for the charity quizzes and events we have held. Their contribution makes a real difference, helping us raise vital funds for causes that matter deeply to our community.

“Partnerships like this extend the reach and impact of our work, and COSMO has always been a fantastic friend to the city. Kan and his team bring not only generosity but genuine warmth, and it’s always a pleasure to work with them.”

Kan also attended the recent British Heart Foundation Charity Gala, where more than £50,000 was raised. COSMO donated a premium bottle of Hennessy, which raised £200, along with two dining-for-four vouchers, helping contribute to the night’s success.
