AN East Midlands-based company has been shortlisted for a hattrick of business and innovation awards in recognition of the cutting-edge technology behind its at-home health tests.
Test Your Intolerance, which is one of the country’s biggest suppliers of self-testing kits, uses state-of-the-art equipment to enable customers to find out what health problems, allergies and intolerances they may have.
Based in Castle Donington the company, which has been operating for 14 years, has seen a 200% increase in the sales of its products over the last 12 months.
It is now hoping that its pioneering technology, which provides scientifically validated results, will lead to award success.
The company has been announced as a finalist in the Business and Product Innovation category of the Federation of Small Businesses Celebrating Small Business Awards 2023, East Midlands.
The firm is one of just a handful of companies from across the region on the shortlist, with the winner set to be announced during a ceremony in March.
Meanwhile, the firm’s human resources officer Lisa Hardy has been shortlisted in the Rising Star category of the British HR Awards, which set out to discover companies and individuals whose initiatives are transforming the people experience and delivering tangible value for their organisations.
More than 220 entries were received from organisations across the UK and among the judges is Hannah Reid who is the People Director at Apple for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.
Finally, Test Your Intolerance has also been shortlisted in the Niche Business Awards 2023, in the Best Small Business category, where judges are looking for innovation and best practice.
Cris West, who runs Test Your Intolerance with business partner Jason Wootton, said: “We are really grateful to have our growth and innovation recognised in this way.
“We are continually building new technologies and tests that we believe will have huge impacts on people’s health and, at a time when the NHS is under pressure, our innovation is more important than ever.”
The range of kits offered by Test Your Intolerance, which are approved by the Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), work by measuring reactions in the body which can uncover evidence of an allergic reaction or an intolerance.
It also supplies tests which can measure a person’s kidney and liver function, as well as a prostate health test and a kit that measures levels of Vitamin D.
And it has also released a menopause kit, which allows people to detect elevated levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which is a sign that they have started going through the menopause.
Mr West added: “We are continually investing into new high-tech equipment and with new innovations in our R&D pipeline, we believe 2023 will be another year of growth for us.
“Any awards recognition will help us boost our exports over the coming months and help people across the world with accurate, quick and cost-effective diagnostics.”
