Topics covered included writing a press release, photography and how to make social media work for you.

Among the group of small enterprises were Marketing Derby bond holders Kul Mahay and award-winning restaurant Amalfi White.

The second workshop – which will take place on Friday, May 1 at Penguin PR’s Derby office – will cover more of the same.

Intelligence and leadership specialist, Kul Mahay, said: “The workshop was fantastic and jam-packed with useful tips and tricks. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am grateful for Sarah, Simon and Kerry’s hard work.”

Sarah Newton, director of Penguin PR, said: “Initially, we were quite apprehensive, as it was the first workshop we had ever run. However, we were thrilled with the great mixture of SMEs and we can’t wait for our next one in May.”

Fellow director of Penguin PR, Simon Burch added: “We were delighted with the turnout. It was also great to receive some really positive feedback from those who attended, as it makes all our hard work seem worth it.

“We’d like to see even more businesses at our next workshop and would encourage anyone who is interested in developing their PR skills to get in touch with Kerry.”

Marketing manager, Seleena Creedon also attended the workshop and said: “It was lovely to be in the presence of total PR pros and other business people who are looking to get more out of their written content. I really feel I have come away with new skills and insight.”

The session will run from 10am-12.30pm and refreshments will be provided. For more information regarding the workshop or to book your place, please contact Kerry Ganly on 07734 723951 or email [email protected]
