A Wolverhampton restaurant provided the setting for an end-of-term celebration as the city’s current Mayor prepares to step down from office.
Councillor Craig Collingswood, Mayor of Wolverhampton, and his team of Mayor’s Cadets were invited to COSMO, an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at Bentley Bridge Way, for a farewell meal as his mayoral term draws to a close.
The cadets support the city through volunteering, civic duties and community engagement activities, while developing leadership, teamwork and personal skills under the guidance of the Mayor’s Office.
Throughout his term, Councillor Collingswood has built strong relationships with organisations and businesses across the city, including COSMO, which has supported a number of mayoral events and charitable initiatives.

Councillor Collingswood said: “I would like to thank Mr Kan Koo and the team at COSMO for their kind invitation to host myself and the Mayor’s Cadets as I prepare to step down from office.
“It was a really enjoyable and meaningful occasion and a great opportunity to spend time with the cadets and recognise the contribution they have made throughout the year.
“I would also like to thank them for their continued support during my mayoral term, particularly their generosity in supporting our charity fundraising events.”

During the evening, the Mayor also visited tables celebrating birthdays, presenting guests with gifts on behalf of COSMO, with diners warmly welcoming the surprise visits.
Councillor Collingswood will remain in post until the end of his term, ahead of the incoming Mayor taking office in mid-May.
COSMO Group Director Kan Koo said: “Craig has been a truly valued friend of the restaurant throughout his time as mayor and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with him and welcoming him into COSMO on many occasions.
“He has always taken a genuine interest in the restaurant, not just attending events but also regularly supporting our wider community activity and engaging with our guests in such a warm and approachable way.
“Our customers really enjoy seeing him in the restaurant, and he always makes the time to speak to people, offer kind words, and create a positive atmosphere whenever he visits.
“We are very grateful for his continued support during his mayoral year, and although his term is coming to an end, we very much look forward to continuing our relationship with him in the future.”
