A nursery which opened just two months ago is already expanding due to demand. Lots for Tots Childcare which opened its first site in Hilton in September, is recruiting for Level 2 and 3 nursery practitioners ready to cater for an increased intake in children.
Owner Beth Wheatley, who also owns the popular Lots for Tots what’s on guide for families and runs the Lots for Tots Awards, said: “We have been increasing the number of children in different intakes to help them settle but we’re now at a stage where we need more staff ready for our next intake.”

The large building on the site of the former Chinese restaurant in Hilton opened in September with 25 children. Now there are 65 who have signed up and are due to start or are with the nursery already.
“I always knew there was a need for this nursery but even I have been pleasantly surprised by the demand we’ve seen,” said Beth.
She now needs three more Level 2 Nursery Practitioners and two Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to cater for the increasing numbers.

And while she is busy recruiting, Beth is also preparing for the popular Lots for Tots Awards which opens its nominations later this month.
The awards celebrate businesses and organisations in Derby which support young people, from baby classes to primary schools, there are a range of categories designed to shine a spotlight on those people helping families with children under five.

“My drive has come from wanting to support other families and foster growth,” said Beth. “That means building and supporting environments — at home, in school, and in business — where children and families can succeed. That is why Lots for Tots Childcare, the magazine and Lots for Tots Awards are so important to me.”
