A LEADING allergy and intolerance home testing company has won a prestigious international health award and been shortlisted for two regional business awards.
Test Your Intolerance, based in Castle Donington, has won an International Life Science Award, from Global Health and Pharma Magazine, in recognition of its world-beating innovation and cutting-edge technology.
It was presented with the Food Intolerance Testing Company of the Year 2023 award, while also being shortlisted in the East Midland Chamber’s business awards in both the Business Improvement through Technology and Outstanding Growth categories.
The company, which has been running for 14 years and recently carried out its one millionth test, has become one of the country’s biggest suppliers of self-testing kits, using state-of-the-art equipment to enable customers to find out what health problems, allergies and intolerances they may have.
Earlier this year the firm won the Intolerance Testing Company of the Year accolade at the UK Enterprise Awards 2023 which recognises the market leaders, innovators and enterprising small to medium sized businesses that are thriving among fierce competition on a national scale.
Cris Wootton, who runs Test Your Intolerance with business partner Jason Wootton, said: “We were overjoyed to win a national award earlier this year, but to win an international scientific award is absolutely thrilling and we feel this is conclusive proof that we are well ahead of the competition with our research, technology and innovation.
“It is also a great achievement to be nominated for not one but two business awards by East Midlands Chamber, especially when there are so many successful companies based across the region.
“2023 is becoming a brilliant year for us – we’ve had record sales every month and we’re going to need a bigger mantelpiece at this rate.”
The range of kits offered by Test Your Intolerance, which are approved by the Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), work by measuring reactions in the body which can uncover evidence of an allergic reaction or an intolerance.
It also supplies tests which can measure a person’s kidney and liver function, as well as a prostate health test and a kit that measures levels of Vitamin D.
And it has also released a menopause kit, which allows people to detect elevated levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which is a sign that they have started going through the menopause.
A spokesperson for the International Life Science Award said: “Operating in an industry rife with cutting-edge technologies, scientific advancements, and evolving regulatory requirements, life sciences companies are constantly working to keep up with new developments and stay ahead of their competitors.
“In this, innovation is at the forefront of their minds. Their breakthrough discoveries can impact the lives of patients across the world by facilitating the development of novel products and treatments.
“GHP magazine endeavours to recognise those that are going above and beyond, or indeed, the businesses that are making meaningful steps forward, no matter how small they might seem on the greater landscape. That’s why we launched our awards programme, and why we continue to spotlight the work of exceptional companies and individuals.”
