Precept become latest partners of award-winning Derby County Community Trust

21/07/2023

A leading HR and employment law firm has joined forces with a charity improving the lives of Derby people through sport, health and education.

Precept has become the latest business to become a partner of Derby County Community Trust as it continues to show support for those in the community in need of help.

The Trust – the charitable arm of the League One football club – aims to improve the lives and communities of local people through sport, physical activity, health and education. It helps more than 25,000 people a year.

The trust was formed in 2008 and works with local and national partners to help people fulfil their potential.

Rob Tice, Precept director, said: “The work of the Derby County Community Trust is a vital lifeline to so many people and changes their life for the better.

“At Precept, we are dedicated to helping others and so we are delighted to be partnering with the trust. We are looking forward to working closely together to see how we can continue to support people and help them further.

“It’s a great way of giving back to the community supporting the trust.”

The Derby County Community Trust is not the only charitable organisation that Precept is working with.

It is also a supporter of S.H.E. UK, a charity based in Nottinghamshire that offers support for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, exploitation and sexual violence. Chief executive Lisa Lenton said: “We value the support given to us by Precept and their superb team! We look forward to working with them more closely in the future.”

Precept also donates to the Mortgage Advice Bureau Foundation; a grant-giving charity supporting community based projects that are chosen by its staff, customers and supporters such as Precept and, later this year, they will take part in the monthly YMCA Derbyshire Community Meal.

The Derby County Community Trust recently held its first black and white ball, which was held in the grounds of Clowes Development’s Ednaston base – the company owned by Derby County chairman David Clowes.

It saw more than 200 people attend, including partners such as Vibrant Accountancy and Cosy Direct,  and raised £26,000 for charitable causes in the community.

Pete Collins, business development manager at Derby County Community Trust, said: “Businesses have thought have of amazing ways to support us, and we really value their support. From committing to their own fundraising events to providing products and giveaways, we work with supporters to shape our partnership. “There are key sponsorship opportunities for brand awareness within our events for partners such as Precept, including the Derby 10K, our Annual Awards and other seasonal events.”
