Employees in a happy team are more satisfied and healthier, and this can lead to better staff retention and productivity.
At Progressive Sports in the East Midlands, our job is to help children to enjoy being active. We do this by leading sports sessions in schools such as Zorb Football, dance and Glow in the Dark Dodgeball – and it’s hard not to be happy when you see how much fun the children are having.
Our specialist staff can deliver across all areas of the PE national curriculum in line with the Ofsted framework, meaning that teachers can spend more time in the classroom knowing that their pupils are receiving tailored sports sessions, alleviating the stress and pressure that many teachers are currently under.
Job satisfaction is key to our success and, as we approach 2023, I think that it will be vital in all organisations – whether that’s in schools or the NHS, sports coaching or HR. We strive to do better, to encourage our members of staff to be the best they can be and they are rewarded for this.
Training and development is also important, and at Progressive Sports we have several apprentices who have blossomed during their time with us. I also believe that it’s essential to give back; I recently spoke with students at Burton & South Derbyshire College about my journey and gave advice on running a business.
Giving back not only feels good, it benefits the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs.
