A well-known Nottingham burger restaurant operator is looking forward to help showcase the city’s eating-out scene to a national TV audience when she appears alongside the owners of two other city outlets on Channel 4 next week.
Annie Spaziano, owner and operator of Annie’s Burger Shack, is set to become one of the stars on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals, a spin-off version of the popular cooking show, which will be screened next Thursday at 5pm.
Annie’s restaurant, in Broadway, is being featured in the show alongside two other Nottingham eateries, The Lobster Pot in Mansfield Road and the Wine Room in High Pavement, with all three venues competing for the right to be crowned top dog.

The name of the game was for each restaurant to impress their fellow contestants with the standard of their food, service and experience, by hosting visits from the other two in a round-robin format.
Filming took place over three nights in May this year and each restaurant served a starter, main course and a dessert, before the guests were asked to give their night out an overall rating.
For her meal, Annie served a starter of Buffalo chicken wings with an in-house blue cheese dip and celery stick, a New England Yankee Brisket Burger and a chocolate pretzel pie topped with pretzel pieces and drizzled in Hershey’s chocolate sauce and caramel sauce.
Annie, who appears on the show with Rena Hyare, the restaurant’s office administrator, said: “We had a great time filming the show, although it was nerve-wracking knowing that everything we did and said was being recorded by a camera crew and that the quality and appearance of our food was going to be judged.
“We’re feeling slightly nervous about seeing ourselves on the TV on Thursday, but there’s a huge consolation knowing that people all over the country are catching a glimpse of Nottingham and the food scene that we have here.
“Nottingham has long had a reputation for being a great place to eat out and although it’s been affected by the lockdown and the current climate, it feels really good to take part in something that will present us all in a fun and positive light.”
Annie’s Burger Shack, which was established in 2009 and also operates a restaurant in Derby, is famous for its 34-strong menu of gourmet burgers, each of which is available in vegan, veggie and meaty and features a variety of ingredients based on a specific theme.
