Colleague Box collaborate with tree-planting scheme JUST ONE Tree as part of company CSR

23/06/2022

Personalised gift company Colleague Box has committed to helping preserve the planet by collaborating with a non-profit organisation that participates in global reforestation.

JUST ONE Tree work with business, schools and individuals who want to help combat climate change and cut carbon emissions by planting trees in countries around the world. A tree is planted for every £1 donated, with JUST ONE Tree doing all the digging.

In the past 30 years, tree planting has increased by almost 300%. Trees are planted for a number of reasons; for forest restoration, to produce commodity crops like rubber, for wood supplies and by companies and organisation helping who want to make a difference.

Co-founder and CEO Natalie Bamford said: “We have partnered with several charities and non-profit organisation that help people in our community – the likes of Derby County Community Trust, Safe & Sound and Food 4 Thought Alliance; a charity that supports people who are experiencing food poverty.

“But we also want to do our bit for the planet, so that’s why we signed up to JUST ONE Tree. It’s our way of helping to combat climate change and something that we feel very strongly about.”

It is the latest initiative from the Derby-based business, which has also recently installed an electric car charging port at their Northedge Business Park headquarters and conducted a sustainability audit, which looks at everything from their supply chain to the way they distribute their products.

COO Adam Bamford added: “There was a report out very recently, conducted by the Ocean and Coastal Management journal, that was quite alarming; if we don’t all look at how we can reduce our carbon footprint then temperatures will rise, oceans will expand and about a third of England’s coast will be put under pressure by rising sea levels.

“Global warming isn’t something that is happening in the Arctic or the Rainforest; its effects can be seen closer to home, too.

“At Colleague Box, we’re doing everything we can to help. We’ve been speaking to other businesses about changes they have made and look to companies such as ethical play equipment provider – and eco-champions Cosy – for inspiration.”

Colleague Box have also launched a new range of products to help others do their bit. They include office plants, a new eco-box and their ‘Happy Days Collection’ – a range of gift boxes jam-packed with goodies to boost wellbeing.

Natalie added: “We all know that when it comes to health and wellbeing, happiness comes from within.

“Plants are proven to help boost mood, positivity and productivity in an office environment and we have had quite a few enquiries, too, regarding our Happiness Collection – which is perfect for World Wellbeing Week later this month (June 27th-July 1).”
