The pair were joined by kids’ TV treasure Peppa Pig, who welcomed excited fans from across Derby – challenging them to beat her score in the fun-filled venture.

Head chef, Wee Goh said: “We love treating our customers and wanted to spread the word about our great range of delicious food, which is why we created the pancake flipping competition.

Diners visiting COSMO Derby on Shrove Tuesday took part in a pancake flipping competition where they could win a meal for two.

“And Shrove Tuesday coincided perfectly with our popular Charity Tuesday event, where youngsters under 150cm eat for just £1. Proceeds go to our chosen charity, Derby County Community Trust (DCCT), so everyone was a winner.”

The Trust, which has been supported by COSMO Derby for the past six months, has a variety of programmes aimed at raising the hopes and aspirations of people living in Derby through the power of sport, physical activity, health and education.

Successful projects include the award-winning Rams in Kenya; an annual trip the Trust makes to the slums of Nakuru in Kenya, where volunteers from DCCT aim to improve the facilities at five partner schools.

Derby County Community Trust also run physical activities for disabled people and those suffering with mental health issues.
