UK professional CPD register BASIS PROMPT is offering up to eight points for every member who attends next month’s PestTech 2019 event in Milton Keynes – and will launching its 20th anniversary celebrations.
PROMPT, which was launched in 2000 as an industry initiative to ensure pest controllers have independent proof of their professional training, can be found at Stand No. 1 at the show, which is organised by the National Pest Technicians Association and takes place at Arena MK in Stadium Way on November 6.
The scheme now has 5,000 members and is offering three points to members who attend the event and a further point for every seminar that they attend, up to a maximum of five.
It will also announce that members – both new and existing – will be able to save money on their PROMPT membership when they sign up for 2020 via Direct Debit by reducing the fee to £20 plus VAT to tie in with the 20-year theme.
And they will be able to give feedback on the PROMPT register, win a cuddly mascot in a prize draw and pick up giveaways too.
Stephen Jacob, Chief Executive Officer of BASIS PROMPT, said: “We are the UK’s largest independent professional register for the pest control industry with more than 5,000 members on our books, so we’re heading to PestTech on a high and with our 20th anniversary year just a matter of weeks away.
“We’ve cut our usual membership fee as a result, while we will also be handing out goodies and looking forward to meeting members and discussing our plans for 2020 and beyond.”
PestTech 2019 takes place at Arena MK, Stadium Way, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, on Wednesday November 6. For more information and to register your place visit www.npta.org.uk/pesttech-2

Notes For Editors
Pests that endanger our health, contaminate our food and environment and damage our property must be controlled. However, it is essential that their control is carried out responsibly by people who are properly trained and competent.
The BASIS PROMPT Pest Controllers register is an industry initiative which provides independent proof that a pest controller has received proper professional training and has continued to update their expertise through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). As registration has to be renewed each year, members of the register will always be aware of the most up-to-date techniques, products and legal obligations.
Support for the BASIS PROMPT scheme has come from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS), the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), the British Pest Control Association (BPCA), the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA), the UK Pest Controllers Organisation (UKPCO) and the Sector Skills Council.
