Annie’s Burger Shack’s fiendish Trick or Treat special is a hit with fans as restaurant gears up for Halloween

21/10/2022

A Halloween-themed burger which makes diners pick between a Trick or a Treat at the end of their meal is going down frighteningly well with customers visiting an iconic Nottingham restaurant.

Annie’s Burger Shack says that its latest creation, which also incorporates ingredients representing Mexico’s Day of the Dead, is proving to be a hit after it was launched to kick off its Halloween celebrations for 2022.

The restaurant, in Broadway, has been festooned in cobwebs and spooky pumpkins in time for one of the biggest weekends in its calendar, which this year will feature a family fun day throughout the day on October 30 and a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture show on the evening of Halloween itself.

Halloween Theme

Annie’s Burger Shack has created a Halloween-themed burger, which makes diners pick between a Trick or a Treat at the end of their meal.

Fancy dress is welcome at both events, while customers are also being encouraged to sink their teeth – or their fangs – into its Trick or Treat special, which was launched last week and is available until the end of the month.

The Trick or Treat burger contains gummy fangs, a Mexican-style salsa and a tortilla bowl filled with grilled chorizo and melted Mexican cheese, which – for best results – should be broken up by pressing down the bun, releasing the cheese to run down the side of the pattie.

It also comes topped with two spooky eyeballs, one of which is the treat – a chocolate truffle – and the other the trick, containing an unappetising mix of garlic and onion. But which one is which?

Annie’s Burger Shack founder Annie Spaziano was born in the USA and loves to mark Halloween by making it fun for everybody.

In common with the other 30 or so of Annie’s burgers on the menu, the Trick and Treat burger and all of its added extras are available in vegan, veggie and meaty.

Annie said: “We’ve all had so much fun designing and launching this burger, which is already going down really well with diners because it’s so interactive and has the Trick or Treat twist at the end.

“It’s been brilliant watching people hesitating before biting into the eyeballs and some of the reactions have been priceless. The chocolate truffle tastes as delicious as the other eyeball tastes disgusting, which is what makes this such a fun experience.

“As an American I love Halloween and we always like to do something different. Everybody needs cheering up at the moment and we’re hoping that our Trick and Treat burger, family day and the Rocky Horror Picture show will be both scary and entertaining in equal measures.”
