ASTON Academy are on track for their best-ever year raising money for BBC Children in Need.
Pupils were accepting donations to have their pictures taken in an Instagram-style selfie booth, which had been made by Year 12 students Rachel Chenganomwe, Sophie Gray and Tanya Khayer.
Sophie said: “We aimed to raise as much money as possible in the hope that we can help to make a difference.
“Every penny counts and we want to help Children in Need.”
Lindsay Burgin, vice principal at the South Yorkshire school, has been delighted with the efforts of the pupils.
She said: “I am so proud of the fundraising efforts of our Post 16 students, who have co-ordinated all of the events for Children in Need themselves.
“As well as the events on the day, we will also be holding Aston’s Got Talent in a few weeks’ time, where we hope that more money will be raised for this worthy charity.”
