A Derby workplace design and fit-out specialist has completed the transformation of an empty office shell into a modern UK service head office for a leading global technology company.
DSP (Interiors), based in Derby, was appointed by Syntegon Technology UK to create its new UK Service head office at Pentagon House, delivering a full fit-out across 4,000 sq. ft of space.

The project marks a continuation of a long-standing relationship between the two businesses, with Syntegon returning to DSP after the company successfully delivered its previous Derby facility under the Bosch brand more than a decade ago.
Working to a 12-week programme, DSP transformed the vacant second-floor space into a contemporary workplace designed to support collaboration, training, client engagement and employee wellbeing.
The fit-out included extensive space planning, bespoke interior design, mechanical and electrical works, acoustic meeting rooms, breakout areas, furniture installation and custom joinery throughout.
At the heart of the design is a central collaboration hub, giving employees a flexible space to meet, work and share ideas away from traditional desk settings. Dedicated boardroom and training facilities sit alongside a feature work café, creating a workplace that balances functionality with a strong sense of identity.
The project reflects a growing trend among businesses seeking workplaces that do more than simply house staff, instead creating environments that support culture, productivity and talent retention.
Sarah Gilleard, Director at Syntegon, said: “Having worked with DSP previously, we knew we could trust them to deliver, and that gave us real confidence from the outset.
“We had a clear idea of what we wanted from the space, but not necessarily how that would translate into a layout. The DSP team took the time to understand how we work and turned that into a design that genuinely supports the way our team operates.
“Throughout the design and fit-out process, I always felt supported. I knew at any point I could pick up the phone and the team would be there to resolve things quickly, which made a real difference.
“The team have been really positive about the new space, with one person even saying it feels like starting a new job, and we’re already seeing more client meetings being held in the space.”
The completed office features a number of standout elements, including a bespoke work café with breakfast bar and pool table, acoustically controlled meeting spaces, integrated planting, feature wall finishes and a striking illuminated Syntegon brand installation.

To keep the layout clean a curved solid wall was introduced to house printers and storage. While the boardroom and training room were positioned along the perimeter to benefit from the natural light.
Aaron Buchan design director at DSP (Interiors) said: “This project is a great example of how thoughtful workplace design can completely transform the way a business uses its space. Like a growing number of clients who approach us, a key driver was to attract staff back into the office on a more regular basis.
“From the outset, our focus was on understanding how the Syntegon team works day to day and creating an environment that supports those activities naturally. Every element of the design was carefully considered, from the flow of the space and the use of natural light through to the balance between collaboration and focused work.
“We are proud to have delivered a workplace that not only looks impressive but genuinely improves the experience of the people who use it every day.” With organisations increasingly reassessing how their workplaces support employees and customers, the project showcases DSP’s expertise in helping businesses create high-performing environments that combine practical functionality with strong design.
